Get wet - play in the rain

I would venture to say, rainy days are not a “fan favorite” of many people. When it rains there is a natural tendency to treat the day as a loss – toast – “thats a wrap”.
Although torrential downpours can be a real bummer, especially since you can’t normally do what you want to do outside of the four walls of your home, there are some things that you can do to take advantage of the bad weather.
Rainy days don’t necessarily have to be a bad thing.
Here are 10 things that you can do to make your day better.
Get Wet – One of the things that you can’t normally do on a normal sunny day is to jump in under the rain and get wet. Although not a lot of people are keen to the idea of playing and running around under the rain, still, the experience of it is something that cannot be expressed in words, and should be experienced first hand. The cool sensation that the rain has on your skin and face is very soothing, and is especially appealing during the season of summer. And this is also one of those times that playing and splashing on puddles of water is fun and acceptable.
Have a Movie Marathon – Rainy days are one of the perfect times for you to catch up on your favorite shows and movies. Invite some friends over and have a movie marathon with them. You can do a variety of themes for your movie marathon, such as a horror movie theme, or simply collect different DVDs and watch them all.
Call Your Friends – Although rainy days can put a damper on your plans to hang out with your friends, you can still keep in touch with them . Simply give them a call, put them in a conference call, and simply hang out as if you were all in the same room.
Play Games – Rainy days are probably one of the times that people who have board games look forward to since this type of weather is great for playing these types of indoor games, whether it is with your friends or family. What is great about board games is that there are a whole bunch of different games that you can choose from, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one that you might be interested in playing.
Drink Hot Chocolate – The cold and wet rainy day weather is the perfect scenario for you to drink some hot chocolate. The beauty of this is that you can basically drink it anywhere you would like to, whether it is in front of the TVwatching your favorite program or out on your front porch watching the drops of rain fall down on the ground.
Bake or Cook a Hot Meal – Baking or cooking something hot is also another activity that you can do to help you get through the rainy day. Aside from the nourishment that the food that you have cooked or baked is able to give you, you will also be able to combat the cold with the warmth you get from your cooking.
Catch Up On Some Reading – If you weren’t able to finish reading a book or magazine that you had for quite a while already, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to do so. Grab a book or a magazine, and enjoy it with a good cup of hot chocolate.
Have an Indoor Picnic – If you had plans on eating out with your family, but the rain made it impossible for you to do so, simply have the picnic indoors instead. Involve the whole family. Get everybody to make something for the picnic. Get the kids to prepare the eating arrangement while mom and dad prepare the food.
Camp In – Although camping is normally done outside of the home, rainy days provide you with a great opportunity to try camping inside the house. Set up your tent, and re-enact your camping experience indoors. You can even treat your fireplace as your campfire to make the experience more authentic.
“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.” ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Spend Time With Your Loved Ones – One of the best things that you can do during a rainy day is to simply spend the day with your loved ones, whether it be your partner, family or friends. Simply being together is a great experience to have, especially if you aim to improve and strengthen your bond with one another. Spend this time to reconnect and talk.
Mission achieved.
