Travel with less hassles

Traveling can sometimes be very traumatic for some individuals because of the long waiting hours, the invisible fees and other add-ons that can truly ruin a day.
If you want to get ahead, it will be beneficial to gather as much information as you can. You can have a safe and sound trip each time provided that you know the right people and know which agencies to contact just in case.
Here are some of the very basic rules to ensure hassle-free travel. This may seem too elementary but surprisingly these rules can be overlooked because of the excitement or the anxiety of the excursion.
1. Plan ahead
Try to book your airline tickets weeks ahead so that you can take advantage of the lowest rates and the best schedules and seats. Passengers who book early are usually given the chance to get the lowest discounts available. You also can ensure that you get to your destination on time for your important meeting or trip. Try to compare different rates and offers among various airlines. You can choose to book online yourself or talk to a friendly and reliable travel agent to guide you through the process.
Planning ahead also allows you enough time to gather all your needed things so that you avoid missing anything on the day of the trip. You can travel comfortably knowing that you have everything in check. You can have all the time you need to make lists and arrange your itinerary so that you get the most out of the vacation.
2. Pack wisely
Experts always recommend that you travel light. You should pick the right luggage bag where you can fit everything you need and carry the load from one place to the next conveniently. Bring just enough clothes to last you for the entire trip. It is wise to think about the meetings and other obligations you have so that you can easily bring the needed items like formal shoes, casual clothes or clothes for the cold weather.
Pack wise and sensibly so that you can easily locate your things just when you need them. Place your wallet, passport or visa, credit cards and other important documents in a special compartment. You should also put your tickets in this area for quick access.
Promethean Tips For Wise Packing:
- Set up an area designated as a packing zone where you can organize everything you plan to take on your trip
- When you are ready to put items in luggage, eliminate about half of what you have set out (you will thank yourself later)
- Pack sealable plastic bags of various sizes
- Organize kid’s clothing by outfit and place each outfit in a large zippered plastic bag – these same bags can be used for dirty clothing
- Since jewelry and other valuables are not covered by the luggage insurance the airlines provide, it is recommended you pack these in your carry-on bag
- Prepare a list of what is in your luggage, in case you need to file a claim for bags that are lost
3. Bring some entertainment
Knowing that you have planned ahead and have all the things you need in check, you should bring with you some form of entertainment to keep you occupied during waiting hours. Bring your mp3 or portable DVD player. Most people just prefer bringing a book or a few magazines so that they can read for hours until the next boarding time.
Make sure you also have some of the important items that will keep you relaxed throughout the flight like sleeping goggles or ear plugs, sunglasses, toothbrush and a warm jacket. Most airlines usually already have these ready for long flights.
4. Have a guide
Sometimes it pays to hire a professional to help you through the entire traveling process. This is especially good for individuals who are traveling for the first time or who are not yet familiar with a certain place or airport. You can get a travel agent or get a guide who can take you from the first to the last step. This way, you do not need to waste time and money moving from one place to the other or getting lost along the way. You might also get to avoid long lines and other common delays and hassles that come with traveling.
A travel agent can help you book the best seats. You might think about taking advantage of first class seats if monetarily feasible. These are the best available and you can travel in the most luxurious way without any problem.
5. Check the season
There are peak days or months for traveling, so you should try to avoid these as much as possible to save more time and money. For example, if you want to travel to another city to visit family on Christmas Day, it might be better if you travel 5 to 8 days earlier so that you can avoid the Christmas rush. The prices of tickets are also generally higher during the peak periods and can sometimes double. You should also try to travel on the least congested days like Tuesday and Thursday. Try to avoid traveling on Monday or Friday where everyone is either going on business trips or coming home. Saturday night flights are usually very cheap.
