We live in a very hectic and stressful world. People today have a lot to worry about, such as terrorism, war, and unstable jobs. We also worry about our family, friends, and so on.
Worrying about something is natural. It’s only human to worry about the future. And, because of the state the world is in today, you really can’t blame yourself for inadvertently destroying your peace of mind.
So, just how do you find peace of mind amidst the turmoil all around us?
How do we relax and eventually stop worrying about the future and our life?
You have to remember that as human beings, we have the ability to control our future. We can rise above any situation that life throws at us and we can also live a fulfilling life even in the middle of the turmoil and madness around. With the proper mindset, anyone can find a sense of peace and purpose.
The 4 Simple But Substantial Rules For Mind Peace
1. Start unsetting your heart. This basically means that you have to stop controlling things that you have no control of. Keep in mind that one of the things that tends to worry us and prevents us from getting peace of mind is by attempting to control things that we have no control over.
2. To love and accept thyself . The keystone to a peaceful mind is to love oneself. Accept that you are not a perfect being (nobody is perfect). Genuine peace pertains to contentment. When you are contented with the job you have, the way you look, with your family, your friends, where you live, your car and all the things you now have, you have truly found peace.
Also, remember that life doesn’t always give us what we want. Stop thinking about the things that you can’t obtain. Simplify your life. Once you do, the universe will grace you with peace and contentment and like magic, will open doors to brand new and more meaningful benefits.
3. Understand that you have little control of the external world. Accept this fact and you will soon realize that you have two choices to choose from.
- You can pity yourself and be a victim of circumstances or
- You can choose to develop trust and confidence in the world where you will have the strength to create something good from anything that happens in your life, whether it is positive or negative.
You will also come across “what ifs” in your life. This is one of the major factors that prevent us from achieving peace of mind. You will often ask yourself what if you lose your job, what if your children stumble upon difficult times, and what ifs this and that. To overcome those pesky “what ifs” in your life, remain diligent and always counter it with “I’ll handle it!”
4. View everything negative as a test to learn from. Whatever negative things that happen in your life, learn from it and overcome it. This way, you will be able to handle any situations that life throws on you.
Creating Peace
You may not possess a peaceful mind naturally but you are not alone. You may not be a Buddha but that doesn’t mean you can’t start today in manifesting a little peace in your life. You owe it to yourself and your well-being.
Peaceful minds don’t always come naturally. It is a learned process. Isn’t it time you begin?
“Peace of mind happens to a man only after he has developed deep insight, only after he starts seeing the things in the right perspective. ” ~ Sam Veda
“Tis peace of mind, lad, we must find.” ~ Theocritus

Hy Kevin,
It was truly a pleasure reading this post. Personally I liked the part where you mentioned that people are only or mostly focusing on the stuff that they´ve no controll over. They´re reading newspaper, watching the news or listening to friends and relativ that are blaming the world for their circumstances rather than focusing on what they can do to improve their life.
We´ve to reprogram our mindest and start working with a different and more logical way to how we approach life.
Have a grest rest of your day,
Gerald
Kevin,
What a moving and inspirational post! Thank you so much for your insights. We truly do find more peace once we realize that it’s not the situation that affects us as much as our reaction to it, or desire to control it.
Peace of mind is one of the more important achievements in our life. It gives us more power, more energy and better health.
